What is the function of a highway?

Where are noise barriers suitable for use?
Noise barriers are mainly used for sound insulation and noise reduction of noise sources such as highways and elevated composite roads. They can be divided into pure sound insulation and reflection type noise barriers and composite type noise barriers that combine sound absorption and sound insulation. The latter is a more effective sound insulation method, referring to wall-type structures set up beside railways and roads to reduce the impact of traffic noise on nearby residents. Soundproof walls are also called noise barriers.
The noise barrier adopts a sound insulation structure. The side facing the noise source is an effective sound-absorbing barrier. It is placed between the noise source and the receiving point to prevent noise from directly radiating to the receiving point. This measure is simple and economical, and is suitable for some machinery and equipment in workshops that do not directly use fully enclosed sound insulation hoods and do not require noise reduction.
Noise barriers are also suitable for outdoor occasions, separating the noise source from areas that need to be quiet. Some entertainment venues, such as KTVs, cinemas, and bars, also need to install soundproof walls to reduce noise. Noise barriers need to be installed around highways and railways with residents to ensure a quiet life for residents.
