Sound insulation characteristics of road sound barriers
The function of road sound barriers is to prevent the propagation of direct sound, isolate the sound propagation, and allow the reflected sound to be sufficiently attenuated. Therefore, the sound insulation attenuation of the sound barrier is designed using the principle of sound wave reflection. When sound waves encounter an obstacle during propagation, they will be reflected, thus forming a "sound shadow zone" at a certain distance behind the obstacle. The size of this zone depends on the sound. From this point, it can be seen that the sound insulation attenuation of the sound barrier is closely related to various central frequency values.
If the frequency of the sound is doubled, the noise reduction of the barrier increases by 3dB. If the height of the barrier is doubled, the noise reduction increases by 6dB. If the receiving point moves from the far field to the same distance as the sound source to the obstacle, the noise reduction of each frequency will increase by 3dB. If the distance between the sound source and the receiving point and the height of the sound barrier are fixed, when the sound barrier is located in the middle position between the sound source and the receiving point, its noise reduction is small. Therefore, the location of the road sound barrier should be close to the sound source or the receiving point.
Components of highway sound barriers
The columns are mainly composed of steel structure columns and sound-absorbing screens. They are the main load-bearing components of highway sound barriers and are fixed to the H-column slots through high-strength tension springs. The sound barrier is composed of sound insulation boards, bright screens, and support structures; single-sided sound barrier board structure; and double-sided sound insulation for sound insulation and sound insulation.
The support components can adopt H-shaped steel or reinforced concrete structures. The connection between the support components and the foundation can adopt anchor rods or prefabrication. Through the above primary components, many small components are needed to form the entire sound barrier, thereby achieving the effect of noise reduction. The specific production process is as follows: First, determine the standards of the sound barrier to be produced, including screens, columns, and accessories.
Installation precautions for road sound barriers
(1) The foundation embedding depth and material meet the design requirements.
(2) The specification and material of the metal columns should not be lower than the design requirements.
(3) The welding materials and fasteners used must meet the design requirements and current standards. During welding, there should be no cracks, unfused areas, slag inclusions, or unpenetrated arc craters.
(4) Reliable measures should be taken to prevent deformation or damage of the anti-corrosion layer during the transportation of metal columns, connecting pieces, and sound barriers to and from trucks. Deformed components are prohibited from installation.
(5) The fixed bolts are correctly fastened, and the quantity meets the design requirements. The end caps are smooth and free of honeycombs or rough surfaces.
(6) The joints between the screen and the foundation should be tight and meet the design requirements.
