The highway noise barriers need a drainage system, and the inlets and outlets of the drainage pipes on both sides should be avoided to flush the subgrade slope, and prevent noise leakage.
6. Highway noise barriers should be constructed according to the design key points for deformation joints, with a deformation joint set every 20-30m in length. During construction, the actual location of the deformation joint should be determined according to the actual site topography.
Why do highway noise barriers need maintenance?

2. Highway noise barriers are located in the outdoor environment along the highway, and are subject to large diurnal temperature differences, ultraviolet light, and precipitation for a long time. The steel structural components of the noise barriers are relatively easy to rust and corrode, and the rubber strips may age and become ineffective.
3. Construction problems. Construction problems currently found include the spacing of noise barrier poles and the length of unit plates, the depth of unit plates inserted into the H-shaped steel poles on both sides, the inconsistency of relevant elevation differences with the design key points, and the inclination of noise barrier poles. The sound-absorbing materials used in highway noise barriers should have the characteristics of being non-flammable, corrosion-resistant, resistant to freeze-thaw cycles, impact-resistant, waterproof, UV-blocking, mildew-proof, and insect-proof.
